Hello Mari, I am writing this email to complain about Jana's post on the general channel. Jana is my teammate as a Communication Specialist in the RXBAR company. One of my main roles in the marketing team is to performing final reads on the written copy. Recently, it happened that I sent an email message to a wholesaler with an unnoticed typo. Later, Jana posted a message on the general channel addressing all the new employees to be proofreading all public-facing copy. However, every employee in the marketing team, including my teammate Jana is well aware that I am responsible for proofreading written copy. I feel that that it was inappropriate for Jana to post that message on the general channel. I feel that it would have been appropriate for her to message me directly and address me about the typo.
I would like you to talk to Jana about the post and address her about the kind of messages that are supposed to be communicated via the general channel. Also, I would like you to inform Jana of the possible effects of such posts on the working relationships.
