Hi Teameco, Your Global Marketing and Trade Environments paper was turned in on time. The Turnitin was very good at 15% The paper was to be 3 pages minimum in the body of the paper excluding the cover, abstract and references and yours was fine as far as length. The instructions to the class in both the announcements was that every paper needed an abstract, which would appear alone on page 2 with the rest of that page left blank, an executive summary, titles throughout the paper that matched the rubric and a labeled conclusion, and a properly formatted reference page and you had all of these items. Now, having said all of this, you have the table of contents just as it would be in a company before the board meets. It is up to you if you want to leave it in or take it out. You are correct in thinking that is why I keep talking about the titles because these are the topics that must be covered in the plan. In this course if you took all of the DQ's and all of the Rubrics and focused them in on the company and country, then added a ton of visuals ads, maps, charts, tables and so on, you would have a marketing plan. So, you seem to be ahead of the game! I wanted to make sure I add that I really like the visual on page 8, however, it doesn't come out well in the paper and appears double print or with an overlay. Perhaps this happens due to the sizing or it is from the source. See if there is another version because it is great content but, if we can't clearly read it, it's not effective. Now, before I get too far into talking about the titles, the Executive Summary for this class will start at the top of page 3. I know the rubric tells you to summarize the contents of the ES as the last item. What's the difference between the Abstract and the ES you ask? The abstract tells the reader the main topics in the paper and the executive summary tells the reader the highlights of the marketing plan and it is like a sales pitch, Your papers will have an executive summary on page 3 and a conclusion as the last paragraph of the paper (so you will have both titles appear), so keep this in mind before you start week 2 paper. Also, once you have week 2 paper automatically save a copy of that paper under the title of final assignment because everything you write about your country and company will be spliced together to create the final assignment. To be clear, you are one of the few people who has done this correctly. If you have the opportunity to help your classmates in Global Campus Cafe, as far as how to construct the plan, it would be very helpful and appreciated. Note: For this class, the final will be all of your papers and DQ's spliced together in addition to the titles asked for in the week 6 final. In other words, a marketing plan has everything you learned in this class. Week 6 is the only week where the titles for the rubric will not match the paper because the final will literally be a combination of everything you wrote in this class. It will be full of visuals such as the SWOT, ads, charts, graphs. It sounds overwhelming right now but trust me that you will be almost done with it in week 5 and wondering why it seemed so easy. Now that you know this trick you can start splicing all of your work together now so that you have one complete marketing plan at the end of this class. Every week you will have visuals that add to the understanding of the paper such as tables, graphs, diagrams, pictures, ads and so on. You did a good job of selecting visuals in this paper. Please consult the APA manual to correctly or the sample paper in the announcements to correctly cite the visuals. This is a great idea for every class, however, some instructors are very strict on page count and if they open a paper that looks too long, they won't read it, so ask in the first week if you can add visuals to your work as it might expand the page length. Some classes (like this one) are very visual. There is a difference between the abstract and the executive summary, but I think that will be more clear in upcoming weeks. The abstract is an overview of the contents of the paper (basically lists the titles/topics of each section) and the executive summary gives the highlights of the marketing plan. In a regular business setting you would not use the abstract, but you would use a table of contents instead and then start right off with the executive summary. Most businesses have software that generates the contents page based off of the titles in the paper. For example, I keep asking that each section of the paper have a bold type left justified title except for the abstract, ES, and references which are centered because the software in a company would auto generate your marketing plan with those titles and corresponding pages. An abstract is really only used in academic and professional writing for publication or research. Most businesses only use the table of contents and the ES. It is always good to know how to do both and not to get out of practice using both. You were to discuss how one or more of the marketing concepts learned in Chapter 1 of your text can be applied to the global economic environment and to the trade environment of the European Union when a company is considering expanding globally. Complete You were to examine how the changes for both economic and trade environments of the marketing concepts can be applied to the environment when considering expansion to other countries. Complete Finally, you were to explain which strategies would be the best for a new product and an existing product using the product/market matrix based on a country's market orientation. Complete Overall, the content of the paper was good. Every week I add a sample paper so that students can compare their work and know where they stand compared to their peers. Your paper is as good or perhaps even better than the paper provided this week as the sample, even at that, it is always good to see where you match up with others and I see real value in this. Keep in mind that the sample paper is not intended to be perfect but rather is intended to represent the weeks work. Please note the assignment was slightly different from the current first week assignment so the student paper attached might not match the titles in your paper. Again, I'm giving you tips throughout the class that you can use in every class, even through your doctorate and breeze right through. It's all about organizing so you know what you are looking for before you get there. Using titles in each week as well as cited visuals will keep you on track so you never miss any content and in addition, the APA will be a breeze by the 3rd week of this class. Well done! You should be very happy with your work! This was one of the best papers in this class. Please let me know your questions. Thank you, Dr. Cigainero
