You should watch the films Young Frankenstein and Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein before answering.

Brooks’ and Branaugh’s versions of Shelly’s novel were released 20 years apart. Young Frankenstein is number 13 on the American Film Institute’s list of funniest movies, while Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein has been roundly criticized for, among other things, not being as true to the novel as its title advertises.

Why do you believe the parodic version, beyond the fact that many just find it funny, remains more popular than that which is far closer to Shelly’s original? Explain your answer in a minimum of 500 words
