You have been hired to teach a 10-minute segment of a GED class on how the US Constitution works,write out a lecture.

Your job is to make clear to students who may never have read or studied the Constitution how it sets up semi-independent branches of government that are to work together to "form a more perfect union." You will want to start off by explaining briefly why a new government was needed. (Two to three sentences on the weakness of the Articles of Confederation).
