Writing Project
This assignment will be similar to Writing Project #1 in that you will adopt a perspective from the past and write on the assigned topic from that perspective.
The Assignment
It is December 31, 1939, You are at home about to write the last entry for the year and for the decade in your diary. You will reflect on the 1930s and how it has affected your family. Feel free to use someone from the family you did for Project #1, or create someone new.
In 1000-1500 words (double-spaced with citations and a works cited page at the end) , your diary entry should contain the following:
- An opening section that discusses how you and your family experienced the Depression. What changed for your family from the 1920s? Note: give me enough information that I can understand who your character is
- A section on your reaction to President Franklin D. Roosevelt and the New Deal, how your family experienced it and, ow well do you think it worked, and why.
- A concluding section at the end that says, "I think the legacy of the New deal will be..." For this part, remember you are writing from the perspective of 1939. You don't know the future, so act on the available evidence and justify your answer.
Writing Project #2 is due no later than Oct. 23 at 11.59 p.m. You can submit it with a late penalty until Oct. 28.
Please submit in .docx, .odt or PDF (preferred in that order). DO NOT upload a PAGES file. I can't open then.
