Week 6 Assignment: Dig for Data: A Team Effort

Your readings for this week identified types and sources of data. For this assignment, identify from the various sources of data in the literature, the two most significant sources you feel are necessary for staff to study in order to improve student achievement.

The two data sources I need to have addressed are the use of student satisfaction surveys that universities utilize to guage student experience.  Secondly please also study the use of standardized exams to understand student achievement and success in the university versus other similarly positioned universities accross the country/world.

Write a paper explaining why you feel these data sources are essential. Be sure to address the following questions in your paper:

• To what extent does the staff at your school or within your district feel that data should drive decisions related to school improvement? Classroom practices? Policies?
• As a leader, how might you instill greater efficacy pertaining to the importance of data utilization?

Also, describe your plan to approach your constituents with confidence, yet in a humble way. Explain how you will get the best out of your team members by empowering them. Finally, explain how you can be challenging, inspire, respect, and willing to share the credit.

Length: 5–7 pages, not including title page or references page

References: A minimum of three scholarly sources

Your paper should demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the ideas and concepts that are presented in the course and provide new thoughts and insights relating directly to this topic. Your paper should reflect scholarly writing and current APA standards.
