Choose one of the following:

Due date: last class, Nov. 30, 2016

Write a 750-1000 word essay (typed, double-spaced) in which:

a.     you compile a list on a certain topic (i.e., “Hateful Things” in Sei Shonagan’s The Pillow Book).  Be sure to be descriptive and detailed in your items in the list.  In addition to the list, write an analysis of what the list reveals about yourself.  What would another person learn about you from your list? 

OR

b.     you ask a question of the I Ching (http://www.ichingonline.net/).  Summarize the response of the I Ching and analyze what the I Ching is telling you about your question and how best to proceed.
