my Tan's story, "The Most Hateful Words" in Voices and Values on pages 125 - 126 discusses a time when Amy, as a teenager, said something hurtful to her own mother.  Write a paragraph about a time when you said something hurtful to someone and later regretted it. Describe the circumstances surrounding the incident by providing enough detail so that the reader can clearly visualize it. What was said? Why did it hurt? If you had it to do all over again, what would you do differently? If you cannot think of a time when you said something hurtful, you may choose to write about a time when someone said something hurtful to you.

Here are the requirements of this assignment:

  • Your paragraph should have a statement of a main idea or purpose, followed by specific examples that answer the question of who, what, when, where, why, and how.  Keep in mind that a Narrative Paragraph is usually organized in time sequence.
  • Your paragraph should contain 10 or more sentences (not counting your topic sentence) that support your main idea/topic.
  • Your paragraph should be 125 words or more (in the body of your paper---not counting your name, course name, date, or title)

Points will be deducted if this format is not followed!
