Internet-Based Company and IT Systems

The business environment faces increased competition on a daily basis and the need for innovative products and services increases as well. Finding effective ways to market and distribute products to a wide audience in the most efficient way possible can be demanding on organizations unless they are prepared to meet the challenges they face. Information technology can play a large role in helping companies gain and hold onto competitive advantages.

For this Discussion, review this week’s resources. Then, select an Internet-based company such as eBay, Amazon, Google, etc. Conduct some research on your selected company within the context of supply-chain management, customer relationships, and e-collaboration. Think about how such a company might implement IT-based systems to address the above mentioned business requirements.

Post by Day 3 a 200- to 250-word explanation of how your selected company might use IT to address one of the elements of business requirements (supply-chain management, customer relationships, and e-collaboration).

Be sure to support your work with specific citations from the Learning Resources and any additional sources.

Read a selection of your colleagues’ postings.
