Week 1 discussions

1.      Use Business Intelligence to improve the following processes. That is, specify objectives and measures and an IS that will improve the process.

       a.    Selecting a job after college.

       b.      Planning and executing a wedding or a funeral.

       c.       Taking photos at college, uploading the photos to Facebook, then showing the photos to relatives on their TV using a Wii or Xbox for Internet access..

       d.      The process the pizza shop uses to buy supplies.

      2.      For the processes presented in question 1, suggest how each could be improved by non-IS means; that is, by adding resources or changing the process structure.

   3.      For the processes presented in question 1, classify each IS improvement as improving an activity, improving the linkages among activities, or improving control.
