United States and Public Policy

Weekly tasks or assignments (Individual or Group Projects) will be due by Monday and late submissions will be assigned a late penalty in accordance with the late penalty policy found in the syllabus. NOTE: All submission posting times are based on midnight Central Time.

For this task, you will be required to compare the US system of government to that of a nation that doesn’t practice democracy.

Assignment Guidelines

For this task complete the following:

• Choose a nation that is not a democracy
  • Research the laws and policies of that nation select one law to write about for this assignment.
  • List out the law and then answer the following questions: 
    1. What is the purpose of the chosen law or policy? Is the purpose clear?
    2. How does this law or policy impact the average citizen of your chosen nation today?
    3. What are some examples of current political issues (if any) relating to the chosen law or policy?
• Do additional research on a comparable law in America
  • Compare and contrast the American political process and its impact on the chosen law to the political process in your chosen nation.

Use a minimum of 3 references to reinforce your thoughts. Be sure to include in-text citations and a reference list using APA style.
