All what I learned in Managerial Accounting class was an eye-opening experience. At the start I was worried - as probably many were too- I have some understanding what Managerial Accounting was but not on its entirely. This class taught helps me to deep in those elements that will provide me with the foundation of my managerial accounting knowledge and future career. I learned about different costing methods, variances, forecasting, and scorecard. This was a great class to understanding business, how business work planning and budgeting.

Week by week when going into each chapter they seems not to have sense separately, however at the end -we all I believe- were able to see the big picture. At a personal title, all this subjects are important as future accounting and CPA that is my final goal.

Thank you Professor N., your remarks were always accurate and helpful.

Thanks J,
Good discussion. What are some specific areas that you learned? How is costing methods, variances and forecasting going to impact you in your personal or professional life?  How will those areas impact your further education?

Kyle Beebe Reflection:

Throughout the entirety of this course, I learned a great deal about accounting in a managerial setting. After taking ACC 201 (Financial Accounting), I found that managerial accounting was an easier subject to understand in regards to the processes and mathematics. During this course, a lot of what I learned was about how to budget your business and how to analyze and discover numerous ways to save money in a business’s practices. By simply doing a few budgeting techniques, it's very easy to see where your company is spending too much money and what they can do in order to save as much money as possible. I personally am not that good at math and never have been, but a lot of the videos and tutoring resources provided assisted me with learning the content and ultimately getting the most out of this course and I'm very appreciative of that. Overall, I felt this course was very organized and put together well by the professor which made it a lot easier to follow and understand so that I could obtain the best possible learning experience. With this new knowledge in accounting, I'll be able to effectively understand where my future business' money is going when I'm running it so I don't have my accountant trying to cook my books and steal money from me. This is a common problem in today's business world and by knowing about financial and managerial accounting, I'll now be able to effectively run my business in more fields than just my expertise in marketing and administration.
