You must read in the textbook the chapter that covers the topics addressed in the pool of questions provided. Your answers must reflect what you learned in that chapter.

Write a one-paragraph short essay (minimum six or seven sentences), in which you discuss:

1. What are the four main functions that every economy must perform?
2. Explain the difference between economic goods; economic needs; and, economic wants.
3. What is the great economic problem facing every society?
4. What are some of the reasons that most consumer goods are scarce and of poor quality in a socialist economy?

This assignment must be written using proper English grammar, punctuation, and spelling. Four (4) points will be deducted for each spelling, grammatical, and/or punctuation error. Work that contains more than five (5) spelling or grammatical or punctuation errors and/or work that does not meet the minimun number of sentences required will receive a grade of F (no points).
