During the Constitutional Convention and the ratification debates questions of State vs. Federal power developed. The Anti-Federalists argued that the new federal government would become too vast and unwieldy.  The Federalists argued that the limited authority of the government would keep it in check.  

Given what you have learned in this chapter, and considering the ideas about the proper role of government that you brought into this class,  has the government moved too far from its intended purpose? Were the Anti-Federalists correct in their fears? Lastly, is our government structured in a way that allows for it to adapt and change over time?   Your response should be approximately three to five paragraphs in length.
