Directions: Create a paper based upon a carefully formulated and articulated thesis of your choosing. You may ground this thesis upon a topic of particular interest to you. Such topics may include discussions of class, gender politics, racial discourse,identity etc. 

• -  You must include discussion of the text's cultural/historical import as discussed

  during lecture. (I Will Input This)

• -  Be sure to incorporate the literary and theoretical terms (liminality, cultural imperialism, Angel in the House, etc.)

• -  Your essay must be founded upon a specific, clearly articulated thesis and supported by textual evidence (close-readings).

• -  You must include in your essay a detailed discussion of the literary genre of the work (realism, modernism or postcolonialism).

  Format and Length:

- Your paper must be at least 3-4 full pages, using 12 point font and regular margins.

- Please follow MLA guidelines when formatting your paper and citing your textual evidence.
