short essay (3-4 pages, double-spaced), you will make an argument about one major issue (such as class, race, postcolonialism, symbolism, voice, point of view, setting, plot, character, etc.) in one short story that we have discussed in class.  For this essay you need to do more than summarize the

story; you need to make an argument, with a debatable claim in the thesis, along with supporting

arguments, an introduction and conclusion, and you need to cite at least two sources and include a Works Cited page.
