PHILOSOPHY PAPER
Descartes says we know the mind's nature better than the body's. Dan Dennett presents evidence to show that we do not know our own mind's very well. What is the argument Descartes presents for his conclusion. What is Dennett's argument? Who has the superior argument? To answer, think of exactly what Descartes seeks to show and how he seeks to do so. Then, look at what Dennett's evidence is best taken to show. Evaluate the interaction and defend a conclusion.
What does your answer suggest about the reliability of eyewitness testimony? What does testimony have to do with this debate? (You should be able to answer the 2nd question if you select this topic.)
