Equity Analysis – Examine each firm’s equity in comparison to its competitors.  Do the firms utilize multiple classes of stocks and, if so, what are the differences in the classes. Examine stock transactions by insiders and institutional investors?  Are insiders buying or selling stock?  Examine the firms’ use of employee stock options and other stock-based compensation.  Consider the dilutive effect of these transactions on future earnings per share.  Examine and compare the firms’ dividend policy and any stock dividends and splits over the past five years.  Compare the firms’ stock performance over the past five years with each other and with an appropriate broad market index.  Examine each firms’ Accumulated Other Comprehensive Income.
