Journal 4 Prompt

In Everyone's an Author, the authors propose that an analytical argument often begins with "a question that prompts you to take a closer look" (Lunsford 142). From this closer look, you (the author) will be able to uncover deeper meanings that often are not immediately apparent.

For this journal, you will use the following question to guide your analysis of a passage in The Road: What "real-life" anxiety is being reflected in tonight's reading of Cormac McCarthy's The Road (1-58)?

You will need to include evidence from the text in order to support your interpretation.

500 Word Minimum.

Journal 5 Prompt

For this journal, you will use the following question to guide your analysis of a passage in The Road: What "real-life" anxiety is being reflected in tonight's reading of Cormac McCarthy's The Road (58-106)?

You should focus on the same anxiety that you discussed in Journal 4, but you should consider how this new evidence reshapes your initial analysis. You will need to include evidence from the text in order to support your interpretation.

500 Word Minimum.

Here is a link of the book:

https://corysnow.files.wordpress.com/2010/06/aj-road-full-text.pdf

-For  journal 4 read from the first page until the first paragraph in page 18 that ends with "yes, she is"

-For journal 5 read from the second paragraph in page 18 that begins with "always so delibrate.." Until the half of page 33 the paragraph that ends with "come on."

I've mentioned the above instructions because the pages in the link are different from the pages in the real book.
