First, provide the historical context of the document:  who wrote it (or, if it's a cartoon, who drew it)? When was the document created?  What is the overall message or theme of the document?

Then, describe how the document provides evidence to show the social, political, and economic equality (or inequality) of Americans in the period following the Civil War.  Be as specific as you can.
