Title: Empirical research on market efficiency

Instruction:

This assignment is designed to familiarise you with the research on market efficiency. This will help you relate theory to real world practice. Objective of this assignment is to integrate your text-book knowledge with empirical research in the investment world. What you are assigned to do in this assignment can suitably be called Review of Research.

What do you need to do to complete this assignment? Follow the steps below:

1.  Find out the answers of the following questions from the article:

(a)  What is this article about?

(b)  For which period this study was done?

(c)   What the authors are trying to analyse/find out?

(d)  What did the authors find?

2. While reading the articles you may avoid reading technical parts, such as, statistical methodology. Your focus should be on introduction, result/finding and conclusion sections.

3.Try to relate the answers of the above questions (using around 250 words) to what you learnt from your text-book chapter on market efficiency.
