Former Mayor of New York, Rudolph Giuliani, said "We only see the oppressive side of authority...What we don't see is that freedom is not a concept in which people can do anything they want, be anything they can be.  Freedom is about authority.  Freedom is about the willingness of every single human being to cede to lawful authority a great deal of discretion about what you do."

Respond to this viewpoint using the concepts of individual rights vs. public order, the consensus model vs. conflict model and the crime control model vs. the due process model.  State your individual view & incorporate the 3 concepts previously mentioned.

 State a criminal case that received a lot of press and caught your interest. Give pertinent details about the case and explain if you felt "justice" was served in the case. Define justice and why it is important to both the accused and the accuser.
