Activities
Weekly activities will include readings, online lecture and exercise solution material, statistical exercises (homework), and online discussions of statistical concepts.
You may use MS Excel/PHStat2 to complete all statistical exercises. You are also expected to participate substantive in the discussions.
Each week, you will have to complete and submit the following:
There will be weekly homework assignments available from MyStatLab.
Each week, except
for the midterm and final weeks, you will be assigned homework

problems from MyStatLab. These problems will be comprised of conceptual exercises similar to the textbook/practice exercises. Each homework assignment may be completed using Microsoft Excel/PHStat2. You are allowed three attempt to complete the weekly homework problems (counting only the highest grade)
There will be weekly quizzes based on homework problems from MyStatLab.
Each week, except
for the midterm and final weeks, you will be assigned a quiz (available through MyStatLab).  Your weekly quizzes are similar to the weekly homework/exercise problems. Quiz problems may be solved using Excel/PHStat2. Since your quizzes are time-based you MUST complete your homework problems BEFORE you begin your quiz. You will be allotted one hour to complete each quiz. You are allowed multiple attempts to complete the weekly quizzes (counting only the highest grade). Each quiz must be completed before midnight (Central Standard Time zone) on the specified date. It is important that you have previously completed your homework assignments before attempting the quizzes. If you have specific questions about a homework problem before you take the weekly quiz, I will be glad to assist you.
During this semester, you will take two exams; Midterm and Final.
There will be a midterm examination in week 4 (available from MyStatLab), covering all material from weeks 1, 2 and 3.

DELIVERABLES
EVALUATION

The midterm exam will be based on the homework and quizzes in MSL. The midterm exam is automatically graded. You will be allotted four hours to complete the midterm exam. You are allowed multiple
attempt to complete the midterm exam (counting only the highest grade).
Your midterm exam must be completed before midnight (Central Standard Time zone) on the specified date.
There will be a final examination in week 9, covering all material from weeks 5 through
8 (available from MyStatLab).
The final exam will be based on the homework and quizzes in MSL. The final exam is automatically graded. You will be allotted four hours to complete the final exam. You are allowed multiple
attempts to complete the final exam (counting only the highest grade). Your final exam must be completed before midnight (Central Standard Time zone) on the specified date.
Note on grading online quizzes/exams/homework
When you complete your quizzes/exams and homework, they are “auto-graded” by MyStatLab. Sometimes, the auto-grader will not accurately award you full credit for your
answer due to system constraints (such as rounding, etc.). For example, if the auto-grader is expecting the value of 42.15 as your answer and you supply 42.149, the auto-grader might count your answer as incorrect. Each quiz/exam is re-graded by your instructor to give you credit when the auto-grader does not correctly grade a question.
Your instructor is aware of this situation and will re-grade each quiz/exam. Please let me know if I missed an assignment that was graded incorrect by MSL.
