The US Supreme Court decided a landmark employment law case. The name of this caseis Wal-Mart v. Dukes. This case involves a class action lawsuit against Wal-Mart foremployment discrimination. The plaintiffs alleged that Wal-Mart engaged in systemicgender discrimination and they were seeking to certify the class and sue on behalf ofmost women who work or worked for Wal-Mart. The Court ruled against the plaintiffsand refused to certify the class. This case has major implications for every business in America and its effects will be feltfor several years. The employers and employees both have arguments on whether thiswas a good decision for America. Your job is to write a 3 page paper analyzing the caseand the arguments and pick a side and explain why your position is better than theopposing side. If you type in any search engine, “Wal-Mart v.
