Information technology plays a huge part in telemedicine. The definition of telemedicine is basically the practice of medicine using telecommunications such as two-way video, email, and wireless phones. Examples are:
Teleradiology, the practice of radiology using telecommunications.
Telecardiology, the practice of cardiology using telecommunications.
Teledermatolgy, the practice of dermatology using telecommunications networks.
Teleneurology, the practice of providing care to stroke victims remotely.
For this discussion, you describe at least two innovations of telemedicine and how they impact patient care. In addition, you identify a medical subspecialty such as teleradiology or telecardiology and explain what it is and how it functions.
