Use the background readings to write a 3 page paper (not including
the cover page or reference page) that addresses the following:
1. Describe the purpose of quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods research.
2. Analyze components of a qualitative and quantitative study using the articles listed below. First, understand the type of method used (qualitative or quantitative). One study uses a qualitative approach and one study uses a quantitative approach. Then, answer the following questions about each article:
○ What are the research questions and/or hypotheses presented?
○ What was the problem(s) studied? ○ Who are the participants? ○ What is the sample size? ○ How was the data collected? ○ How was the data analyzed? ○ What were the major findings from the
study? ○ How might this study impact your
professional practice or goals?
