While an undergraduate at Cornell University, Flaxman conducted a meta-study where he used the literature to develop and test several hypotheses associated with spice use in traditional recipes and the role of morning sickness to protect the fetus from toxins. I hope you will notice how carefully Dr. Flaxman constructed predictions used to evaluate his hypotheses.
