Map assignment

For our next map assignment, please go to the Landforms Map on page 6-7 in the Goode's World Atlas.  Please only examine the map for the coloration noted, not the other categories (such as hills, mountains, etc).  Please explain your answers in your own words, any use of words taken directly from sources will be severely deducted.

Answer the following; 

1. Title - what is this map illustrating?  What do the colors represent? (think about this based upon reading in chapters 11, 12 (10th ed) and my lecture on rock types.  

2.  Pattern -- do you see a general pattern for the following rock types? explain where you see each type of rock. 

      a. Igneous - compare to pages 8-9 atlas.

      b. Sedimentary -- 

      c. Shields [see ch 12 (10th ed)] -- what type of rock is this? where see at surface? 

3. Examples -- identify 4-6 countries where you find each type of rock.

4.  Process -- explain how each type of rock is formed, and correlate to other maps to validate or locate landforms created through these processes. This section will take you 400-500 words, or more.
