Background: In the context of a global village that consists of 100 people, each individual would symbolically represent approximately 68 million people. This conceptual framework allows students to better understand and reflect on the scale of global populations and the diverse experiences, perspectives, and challenges faced across the world. You will explore how this individual’s life is currently shaped and how it may evolve by the year 2050. Throughout the assignment, you will compile your weekly reflections, notes, and research to develop a seven-page paper detailing what this person’s life might look like in ten years. Consider the potential challenges (Dark), opportunities (Light), and uncertainties (Grey) that could influence their future. Review the class lectures, take notes, and research your villager. The best external sources are the CIA World Fact Book and the U.S. State Department. For this assignment, you are being asked to accomplish four things. Step #1 - Select a Villager from the attached chart. Step #2 – Submit your villager for approval from your instructor. Step #3 – Write an APA paper based on your villager. Write an APA-style paper with an introduction, creatively introducing your “villager” by giving them a name, persona, and background story. Develop their life and experiences. Use section headings to align with the topics covered in class: Turbulence, Populations, Information, Technology, Economics, Conflict/Security, and Governance. Conclude with a summary of where this individual might be in 2050. Step #4 – Create a PowerPoint with a voiceover that discusses your village. The PowerPoint should have at least 10 slides and discuss the parts of your paper and your village in detail. You should also include a minimum of 5 visual aids depicting the country and life of your villager. Project Requirements
