Week 10 Assignment: Evaluation of a Health Promotion Intervention (THIS IS THE INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE PAPER TO WORK ON)

This is your evaluation of your project and your practicum. You will include your participant in the evaluation process. Interview the participant from your health promotion teaching session. Include questions on the following:

· Did the participant reach their short term and long-term goals? She exceeded her goals

· What would you change with the goal, what would you add, etc?

· Why did your participant not achieve the goal (if they did not)? She did meet the goal.

· If goals were not achieved, what were the barriers?

· Did the participant feel the teaching was effective? With additional help of a nutritional book, she was able to educate herself more since she is a visual learner. She appreciated the additional tools given to her.

· Would the participant recommend changes to the way information was taught? She found it as a great foundation to go off of. During weeks 8-10, I gave additional teaching that would benefit the participant which she liked.

Write a 3-4 page paper in APA format.

Include the following topic areas:

1. An introduction that includes a brief overview of the teaching session. The teaching is based off of the pamphlet that is attached.

2. A summary of your interview with the participant

3. Your reflection on the teaching plan and teaching session: Was it effective in terms of improving patient knowledge (use the findings from your 5 question pre and post test)? Yes, her answer positively reflected her attentiveness to the teaching

1. What do you believe a healthy meal consists of?

2. Do you think exercise is important? Why or why not?

3. How long do you think you should exercise for when trying to lose weight?

4. What is the important of practicing mindfulness?

5. Do you believe stress is a contributing factor to unhealthy eating habits

Was it effective in changing participant behavior? Yes

Were there any teaching gaps that identified?

Would you use the same techniques again? Yes

What was your overall impression of the educational you planned, delivered and evaluated? Yes

Please Expand on the responses. I will attach the other papers I have done prior to this since it is a step by step project. This paper is the final one.

I have also attached papers/ charts that I have done in order to get a better idea of how to put everything together since this has been a process. The main goal is to let the grader believe that the subject I taught on better healthy habits followed instructions and the guidance/tools I provided. Feel free to add any additional information that would benefit my paper. Feel free to message me if you have any questions. I appreciate the help!

“Mindfulness is the practice of being present in the moment.” By eating slowly and paying close attention to your body's hunger and fullness signs, you may be able to avoid overeating. Many people unknowingly overeat and are unaware of it until after a meal. Removing distractions such as phones, tv’s, computers, and cluttered spaces will allow you to pay more attention to your body. There are occasions that some individuals will use food as a way to cope with traumas, seeking professional assistance can help you to take control of your life.
