Individual written internship report content

Learning objectives: It is important for the assessment that the student elaborates and reflects on learning objectives for the internship

The assessment must include:

1. Introduction: short description of the company (business strategy, customers, market, competitors etc.)

2. Work tasks: the student elaborates the work tasks that he/she has solved/produced or participated in solving/producing during the internship and whether the goals were fulfilled (e.g. with starting point in the internship plan). Furthermore, the student has to elaborate the acquisition of new skills (e.g. sales, search engine optimization etc.)

3. Professional/academic reflection: the student considers and reflects on the application of professional and academic skills. That is, what theories, methods, models and tools were utilized in connection to solving tasks during the internship and in which way.

4. Meetings: the purpose of these and the student’s role in the meetings. What did the student learn?

5. Possible courses/events/exhibitions: which - and the purpose of these. What did the student learn? Etc.

6. Conclusion and summary of experiences: what did the student learn – professionally and personally? What was good; what was bad? Why did it proceed the way it did?

7. Perspectives: has the internship influenced the dissertation, career development etc.?

9. Any appendices e.g. something that the student has produced during the internship.

The above content is indicative, because the internship can differ, but point 1, 2, 3, 6, 7 and 8 are mandatory. The optimal internship report will include all points and demonstrate a high level of reflection on own learning (personally and professionally).

The agreement is only approved, if the student have made an internship plan, which inclues: • Short description of company (what kind of company is it? Products, customers, industry, B2C or B2B, Danish or international etc.)

Work plan with specific work tasks divided into 12 weeks: The plan has to be detailed with specific work tasks. To obtain approval of the internship agreement the specific work tasks performed by the student during the internship have to be related to marketing and sales in national or international companies and lie within the academic scope and learning objectives of the course programmes (Please see the curriculum for the education). It must be evident from the agreement that the internship lives up to all requirements. Zealand also needs to see that there are work tasks enough to 37 hours per week in 12 weeks. The work plan must be prepared in cooperation with the internship company, who decides relevant work tasks during the internship. Meetings: Which meetings will you attend during your internship period? (Has to be written in the text box: ”Any other agreements”)

• Evaluation: How will you be evaluated in the company during your internship? (Has to be written in the text box: ”Any other agreements”)

• Goals: Which personal and academic/professional goals do you have regarding your internship – what will you gain? For this you should let you inspire of the learning objectives listed in the curriculum. (Has to be written in the text box: ”Any other agreements”)

• Extended cooperation in regards to final exams project. Have you and your internship company agreed to continue the cooperation in regards to the final exam project, which means that you will write the project for the company (as we recommend)? If you have, the company will have to ensure that you have access to information and that you will ensure the company will receive a copy of your final exam project. (Has to to written in the text box: ”Any other agreements” like: An agreement has been signed between xx (you) and yy (the company) that the student can write his/her final project for the company. The company makes data available during the internship and the student subsequently submits the finished project to the company)

Scope: The written internship report must not exceed 15 pages (ONLY Main content excluding bibliography, reflection evaluation, perspectives and appendices). One page is defined as corresponding to approximately 2,400 characters including spaces. Format: A4, right and left margins 2.5, top and bottom margins 2.0, line spacing 1.5 and font size approximately 12.
