Subject: Communication Leadership Analysis of Mr. Thamer Algabsani.

Following your request, I interviewed Mr Thamer Algabsani, president of Saudi association students Club at CSUSB. From my observations, Mr Thamer Algabsani could improve his communications skills with students he leads through encouraging information sharing between students and club leader to create a forum where they can air their grievances and their concerns and through creating an open dialogue to enhance student involvement in matters affecting their club. Please find the discussion below on the institutional overview, analysis and my recommendation.

Instructional Overview

Mr Thamer Algabsani happens to be the president of the Saudi association students Club at CSUSB. He nominated himself to that position in quest to help the students at the University of San Bernardino. As the president, he represents students, airing their grievances and concerns to the university management and assisting them where due. Mr Thamer Algabsani role as the student president is to ensure there is an appropriate forum for students to raise their concerns and grievances and give suggestions on how the management can improve the management of the university at large. Once Mr Thamer Algabsani gets this information from students, he, in turn, presents the information to the university management or offer assistance when possible.

Analysis

Communication plays a very important role in student representation. Lack of effective communication between the club’s president and student means poor representation. Every student can't present their grievances and concerns to the university management pertaining to their club. That's where the president comes in to collect information from students and present it to the management on their behalf. Use of open dialogue encourages students to participate in giving out information and suggestions. This leads to accurate information, unlike where they are not well involved in the dialogue.

Another reason that leads to ineffective communication is where the leaders fail to make their mission and vision clear to other students. Mr Thamer Algabsani tends to take no comments from the students he leads. Mr Thamer though does not want to accept this weakness indicates that he givens no chance for the students to express their thoughts. He, as a boss assumes he should not listen to the students, he leads. This leads to disagreements between the students and the club’s president since the mission is unclear and no party seems to understand each other.

Summary; conclusion and recommendations

Communication plays a vital role in leadership. Therefore, the leader ought to consider having representatives in place who would be responsible for airing grievances on behave of the fellow students. Also, the president ought to consider having a clear mission and visionary statement communicating the goals of the club that it seeks to attain as a governing framework.
