Description:

This was a senior thesis study.  Muscle activity in the upper and lower abdominals was studied.  Activity was also compared with a subject performing a stomach crunch compared to using an ab rocket.  Each subject came in and had their activity recorded for upper and lower abdominals while performing a stomach crunch and a crunch on the ab rocket.

1.    Is there a significant difference in EMG activity (in the upper abdominals) between the crunch and ab rocket?  Based on the results, what is your recommendation?

2.    Is there a significant difference in EMG activity (during a crunch) between upper and lower abdominals?  Based on the results, what is your recommendation?
