Activity Instructions

In this discussion, you will begin to evaluate the leader's responsibility to prepare the self for work in a competitive, complex, and diverse workplace by:

• Exploring developmental paths that enhance skills for global leadership.
• Evaluating current global leadership development programs for their effectiveness in fostering deep self-awareness and growth as well as cultural intelligence and multi-mindedness (Five Minds).

Prepare a table to share with colleagues that compares and contrasts PepsiCo's leadership development program with a company in your industry using the following criteria:

• The programs or experiences that are used to enhance skills for global leaders.
• Their effectiveness in fostering deep self-awareness and growth.
• Their effectiveness in fostering cultural intelligence.
• Their effectiveness in fostering five minds for the future.
• The degree to which self-design or responsibility for self-development in each category falls to the individual.

The information in your table should list, in bullet format, the similarities and differences you have identified in comparing and contrasting the leadership development programs of PepsiCo. with one of its competitors, according to the five criteria provided. Your substantive discussion post is to summarize and highlight some of the major similarities and differences you have identified.
