Make a Math lesson plan. You will nee to pretend you watched a teacher teach a math assignment before you can do this.After your observation, write a description (suggested length of 1 page) of the observation that includes: 1. A description of the mathematics teaching model used 2. A description of how the observed teacher structured student practice time Contact the specific school staff member, teacher, or administrator at the location of your school placement who supervises your pre-clinical experience (PCE); arrange to teach a class of elementary students. This instruction may be done over a two-day period. You will need to meet with the classroom teacher beforehand to determine which math problems to teach and which mathematics teaching model to use in your lesson. If you have not yet received confirmation of your PCE placement, contact your mentor before proceeding with this task. 1. Using the attached lesson plan format, develop an original lesson plan that includes: a. Teaching a multi-step math problem (a 3040 minute lesson) b. Providing the students with opportunities to solve problems that are structurally similar to the ones previously taught (a 2030 minute practice session) Note: Make sure you submit your description and lesson plan as part of this task. D. Provide the classroom teacher with a copy of the lesson plan you developed in part C1 to review before you teach the lesson. Teach the lesson.
