Presentation

Create two PowerPoint slideshows as required. In both slideshows, you have to record your delivery of it. This means you have to actually present it and submit the PowerPoint slides as a slideshow that contain the recorded audio. There is no need to have a real audience, unless you want to. If you have difficulty recording due to technical limitations, please submit a full script of your delivery in the notes section of your PowerPoint slides that reads the way it would have been presented. Your submission will be assessed based on this script. In this case, please include colloquial expressions that you would use (if any) as if you were speaking to a real audience.

The first is to be presented to owners who want to know how to earn the Healthy Dining rating for their restaurants. The second is to be presented to staff on the new policy.

Be sure to add audio to your presentation by using the "Record Narration" option under the Slide Show tab in PowerPoint. You will need a microphone, which should be built-in on most computers.

Both presentations must have at least 6 slides, including the opening and ending slides. Include the appropriate recorded narration for these slides.

  1. In this first presentation, address the presentation as a response to Mr. Adrian Hammersmith and guests, Adrian's Steak House, 974 South Cobb Drive, Marietta, GA 30060. Explain in your presentation that information about the Healthy Dining program can be found at the Healthy Diet Finder (2015) homepage. This page is primarily for diners. A link at the bottom of the page, labeled “Nutrition Services,” takes dietitians and restaurateurs to information about program certification and membership.
  2. In your second presentation, address it to the staff in your company, including new employees who have just joined.

Be sure to add audio to your presentation by using the "Record Narration" option under the Slide Show tab in PowerPoint. You will need a microphone, which should be available with most computers.

Save your PowerPoint presentations with recorded narration as slideshows. Submit them by the module's due date.

Assignment Expectations

PowerPoint slideshows have to be professionally prepared (PowerPoint presentations should not be over 10MB). They should include narration, which should be recorded as a slideshow and submitted.

Submit your slideshows with narration. Your slideshows will be graded according to the Trident Oral Communication Rubric (TUI, 2015).

No citations and formal bibliography are necessary for Case 4.

Case General Expectations

In the Case Assignments, students will assume the role of a Manager in Employee Communications at a large service firm, such as a bank, or an advertising or consulting firm. Students will assume this role throughout the Case Assignments and be challenged with different scenarios, requiring written and verbal communication.
