RE: Week 5 Discussion FROM CLASSMATE
Professor and Class,
What are some of the key factors to consider when recruiting in a global workplace?
Globalization has not only had an impact on how we manufacture and deliver products to consumers, but it has also affected how organizations select, develop, and retain their talent to ensure organizational success. During the process of finding and attracting the right candidates and encouraging them to apply within the global workforce, the HR professional must be able to create an effective recruiting strategy within their organization. Some Key factors that may influence the recruitment strategies of the HR manager are the Exogenous, and Endogenous contingency factors.
· The Exogenous Contingency Factors are influences outside of the immediate control of the organization but have a significant impact on organizational functioning. This would include things such as
· The external labor market that the company is situated. Elements such as the employment standards, workers compensation, unionization, human rights, and other legal contexts of human resources practices within that labor market.
The next key factor in global recruitment would be
· The Endogenous Contingency Factors which are the internal influences in an organization's recruitment.
· The internal forces on an organization's recruitment would be factors such as the size of the organization and its technological sophistication.
Factors such as these have influenced how the management of global organizations develops their recruitment strategies.
