Essay Instructions

Self-awareness is critical to effective team membership. There are innumerable diversions to distract us from those things that really matter. To help you better understand yourself, you will select three consecutive days to unplug from all media, including every social media platform, TV, radio, news, non-essential texting, and unnecessary internet browsing. It may seem like a return to the stone-age, but it’s really just back to about 2005. The instructor will not clarify the words ‘unnecessary’ or ‘non-essential,’ and will leave it to the students to determine when they are rationalizing their behavior. Once the three days are over, you are to write a short essay describing what took place and the insights you gained, how they may relate to anything you have read thus far, and what commitments—if any—you have consequently made because of what you have learned.

Format: 12 point font , Times New Roman, 1 inch margin, APA double-spaced, 3 full pages long, an abstract is not needed. (Cover page, works cited do not count toward the limit)
