Sketching/Visualization Practice These exercises should not be turned in with the weekly homework. If you maintain an organized portfolio of your work, you can turn it in at the end of the quarter to be graded as a substitute for your lowest grade on the two graphics exams.

· Section 12.09 for figure P12.1 objects a, g and k only

· Sketch an isometric pictorial for each object

· Sketch a cabinet oblique pictorial for each object

· Sketch a two-point perspective drawing of each object

· Select a piece of furniture in your house (challenge yourself!)

SolidWorks Practice These exercises should not be turned in with the weekly homework. You should maintain an organized folder of these completed models as digital files with descriptive filenames. At the end of the quarter, you can burn them to a CD to be turned in and graded for up to 10 points added to your SolidWorks exam score.

SolidWorks Model of the Week (60 points)

Instructions:

Consider again the assembly model of the rail column you made for Week 5. Create an engineering drawing of the column part (part 1). Also create an assembly drawing of the full assembly with an exploded view and a parts list (similar to figure 8.37 on page 247 in Howard/Musto).

Turn in the following to document your work:

· A printout of your part drawing on B-size (11 x 17) paper.

· A printout of your assembly drawing on B-size (11 x 17) paper.

· Save your drawing as an eDrawing and submit it (eDrawing file only) per instructor’s instruction.
