I was given #70 and #16 from the course material and using the rules of exponents I'm going to simplify these as much as possible:

LaTeX: \frac{a^{\frac{1}{2}}}{a^2}a12a2 For this equation we can use the quotient rule, which means we can keep the base "a" and

1/2 - 2 subtract 1/2 and 2. The 2 is turned into it's reciprocal and multiplied by 2 (top and bottom) to

1/2 - 2/1 to find the LCD. When finally subtracted, we have -3/2. With a^-3/2, we use the negative

1/2 - 4/2 exponent rule to make it 1/a^3/2. This cannot be simplified any further to my knowledge.

LaTeX: a^{-\frac{3}{2}}a−32 = LaTeX: \frac{1}{a^{\frac{3}{2}}}1a32

(-16)1/2 For this equation, we write (-16)1/2 in radical notation, which is LaTeX: \left(\sqrt[4]{-16}\right)^1(−164)1. You cannot find a LaTeX: \left(\sqrt[4]{-16}\right)^1(−164)1 4th root of a negative even number (in this case, there is no negative number that can be

multiplied to itself four times to get -16) so the answer is as simplified as possible. There

weren't any opportunities to use the other vocabulary words. Thank you very much!
