List of Approved Events

List of Approved Events

Instructions for Local Students - section Logan-L01

are on the left side of the page, with blue headings!
(Local students are not allowed to use the online options for distance students.
You will receive a zero for that assignment.)

Instructions for all other sections, Distance Sections,

are on the right side of the page, with green headings.

Local Students only -

· Secure your tickets the first week of classes . Many of these events will sell out .  Even some free events may require tickets.

· When you purchase your tickets, be sure to ask about student discounts . To receive the discount for university events you need to purchase your ticket(s) in person at the CCA Box Office.  You will also need your USU ID.  The CCA Box Office is located in the Kent Concert Hall foyer, west side.

· For all events, please read the corresponding written assignment's instruction s prior to attending the event.

· Compare the dates of events with the dates when assignments will be due .  Notice that approved events are available over several months at the beginning of the semester.  Modules 5,7,8  appear on the course calendar middle to late in the semester.  You may pick an event early in the semester for a module about music or theatre.  Quizzes and assignments for those modules are not due until the third or fourth month.  There may be a long time between the event and when the assignments are due.  Remember that you may complete any module early, once you have successfully passed the Orientation Quiz.  Or.....you will have to keep your notes of the event handy for when you complete the module later, quiz and assignment.  Plan ahead!  We wish you the best with this.

===========  Visual Art, Module 5 ===========

both tours required for all sections

1. Nora Eccles Harrison Museum of Art (USU Campus - Local Students)

This year, fall semester '16, spring semester '17, (and probably summer '17) the museum will be closed because of construction.  For this academic year, everyone in the L01 section (local), regarding museum tour, will need to follow the instructions that are for the Distance Students.  You will not need to do a physical visit to the Museum.  Please read and follow the green instructions immediately below for this section of the Module.

1. Nora Eccles Harrison Museum of Art (USU Campus - Distance  Students)

You do not need to visit the museum personally.
Some of the instructions in the assignment are for you to observe the art work closely.
Because these are only photos, observe as best you can.
The Museum people assured me that their photos will be of high resolution
so you can expand the picture to that end.

To see the show in picture form, with complete museum cards,

Links to an external site.

This link will send you to a PDF that you can print off.  Also, there is a URL that you can go to and listen to information about the artwork from your phone.

There use to be several different tours available on this website. They are free.

You must complete Route 1 (see red note below) , Participate in the tour on your own time.

Print off the route, walk the campus, and enjoy the art work.

If you choose, you may complete the tour over the course of multiple days.

Be sure to leave yourself time to complete the assignment before the due date.

Route 1 - is no longer officially marked within the link.

You now need to know that Route 1 = sculpture numbers 1-7, 23-24, 32-36.

There no longer is a map for you to single only these out.  Sorry!

This link is really for the local students.  It might be helpful to you.

There are no pictures on this link, but there is a URL where you can listen
to comments about the work.  This site is still under construction.  So, the below link,
which is specifically for distance students, may work best.

You must complete Route 1 (see red note below)

This tour is ready for you now online.

Since you are not here physically to walk the tour,

read each description and play the audio comments!

View each picture, and follow the instructions of the assignment.

Because you are not there in person, you cannot walk around the sculptures.

And some of the details of the work may not be as obvious in the picture as in person.

For this assignment, just observe via the photo the best you can.

Route 1 - is no longer officially marked within the link.

You need to know that Route 1 = sculpture numbers 1-7, 23-24, 32-36.

There no longer is a map for you to single only these out.  Sorry!

There is also a great new link where you can access both audio and written

descriptions of each piece.  Here is the link....
