Here you have some suggestions for your written homework:
You need to answer questions typing text in an Excel file . You can type your answer in one cell and you can adjust the size of the cell to any length you need and you can format the cell to contain multiple lines. You can also insert a text box and type any amount of text on it as you would do in a Word processor.
- "Lind book" refers to your textbook "Statistical Business in Economics" by Lind, Marchal and Wathen. The exercises are labeled using the Chapter number followed by the problem number, for example problem 1-20 refers to Chapter 1 problem 20, and so on (you can find this particular problem at page 16 in your textbook).
- Organize all your work in an orderly sequence indicating clearly your answers, procedures and conclusions. Address every question in the same sequence that they were asked indicating clearly which part of the question you are answering (a, b, c, etc.)
-If applicable use formulas to perform computations instead of just typing numeric results. Typing formulas in Excel would allow me to check your work in greater detail and would be able to track any errors.
- One of the most important part in responding a numeric question is your conclusion. Correct numeric results are usually not enough (unless you are only asked for a numeric result), in many cases I need to know what is your interpretation of your results. Specially when we study inferential statistics you need to state clearly what are your conclusions, first in technical terms, and then followed by a plain English interpretation.
