· Begun with a good attention device like a question, statistic, story?

· Established common ground with your audience and related topic to target audience?

· Established credibility; proved that you are reliable and trustworthy?

· Previewed the main points of your speech and told us exactly what you will be covering?

· Done all of the above in 10-15% of your total speaking time?

Body of Speech:

· Decided whether you are appealing to passive or active agreement?

· Chosen an organizational pattern to explain your main points?

· Supported your main points with accurate and current evidence and supporting material?
