Further down goes horizontal among the department heads
Finally goes vertical down to the intern

Human Relations Theory
Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs
motivate employees so that they may achieve self-actualization
McGregor’s Y Theory
work can be as natural as play
Fayol’s Theory
Here we have the human relations theory. The first theory that applies is maslows hierarchy of needs which states that motivation of employee is the key to success to allow employees to achieve self-actualization.Honda motivates his employees by allowing them to take their own initiative to develop new technologies. He tried to create a better environment by attracting specialist and motivating them to do their work as best as possible. Stepped away from the traditional japanese caste system and promoted based on performance rather than experience or seniority.Encouraged employees to learn without fear of failure, which would build the road to success. The next theory is mcgregors y theory that states work can be as natural as play. Honda promotes ambition and youthfulness believe that these are positive driving force that would allow employees to enjoy work. Allows employees to be creative and take risk in their concepts or dreams

Communication Issues
Time
Teamwork
Communication
Next we have the Communication issues
The first concept is time in which honda believes is a limited resource. To keep time there needs to be simplicity (focusing on the critical issue by knowing what must be done), concentration (focus resources and thinking to reach goals), and speed (rapid implementation). By keeping with time you can better manage your time schedule as well as the schedule of others
TEAMWORK. The HR Management at Honda believes that workers are more happier is they are working with one another rather than for one another. This allows employees to express themselves more freely allowing better collaboration. This will allow fresh ideas to keep Honda at an innovative edge
COMMUNICATION. Honda advocates communication with its various stakeholders. In doing so, it would cultivate fluid communications internally and externally benefitting both ends of the organizations.

Intercultural Relationships
Context Culture
hybridized high- and low-context culture
Barriers
perceptual disparity
language dissimilarity
nonverbal dissimilarity
Overcoming Barriers
following prescriptions
learn the others culture
egalitarian frame
“Success represents the 1% of your work which results from the 99% that is called failure”
- Soichiro Honda
The next topic is intercultural relationships. The Context culture at Honda seems hybridized of high and low context culture. Japanese is known to be high context, where as the US is low context based. However, Soichiro wanted to break this traditional norm. He did this by instilling the American culture of individualism through allowing employees to take their own initiative towards innovation but must accept the responsibility for the outcome. On the other hand, he brought the collective group culture to America opposing the individual rewards.
Barriers may be perceptual disparity, language barriers, and nonverbal dissimilarity, Honda breaks these barriers by instilling the Honda Philosophy in its employees, by having employees learn from each, how they work, how they live, how they communicate, how they behave and by assuming egalitarian frame to be open to cultural difference.

Ethical Issues
Ethical Yardsticks
Categorical Imperative
Utilitarianism
Veil of Ignorance
Honda Philosophy
Fundamental Beliefs
Respect for the Individual
The Three Joys
Management Policies
The next frame discusses the ethical frame at Honda. Honda promotes these three ethical Yardsticks. Categorical imperative, utilitarianism, and veil of ignorance. All of these concepts are summarized into the Honda Philosophy with fundamental beliefs encompassing the respect for the individual and the three joys. The management policy supplement the philosophy by providing guidelines for day to day conduct
