FYI: Lean thinkers believe that CNVAs (customer NVAs) are activities for which a customer would not pay if it were on the invoice, for example: overhead costs, copies of orders, internal approvals. Some refer to these as BVAs (business value-added) – that is, they are not CNVAs, but are essential to the business. That said, wasted time, uncorrected errors, or excess inventory – all these are genuine NVAs in Lean World.
