Case Study

The standards in Subpart S are consistently in the top 10 in OSHA’s most frequently cited standards lists and highest penalties assessed lists. The standards in Subpart S are complex and often misunderstood—even by professional electricians.

Use the checklist here to conduct an electrical safety inspection of your workplace. Add the citation for the OSHA standard for each question. In the comments section for each item, include your recommendations for correcting the violations.

If a checklist item does not apply to your organization, explain why in the comments. PowerPoint Presentation

The 2012 revision to the Hazard Communication Standard (HCS) requires that employers train workers on the GHScompliant hazard warning labels and safety data sheets (see 1910.1200(h)(3)(iv)).

Using Appendices C and D of the current standard as a resource, develop a 10-slide PowerPoint presentation that can be used to train the employees at your workplace or a workplace with which you are familiar.
