Writing Requirements
- Formal Report format. Follow the corresponding templates from pgs. 384-407 (Figures 11-2 to 11- 14) - 9-12 single spaced pages - Submitted as PDF file to Blackboard

Written Report Overview Working from your group’s feasibility proposal, develop a 9-12 pg. written report with both graphic and textual design elements. Your report should include the following sections:
• Title Page • Abstract • Table of Contents • Executive Summary • Introduction • Body of Report • Conclusions/Recommendations • Works Cited
You may include additional sections if you wish. (See Chapter 11 in your textbook for suggestions.) As I mentioned in the project overview, you must consider the report’s design, layout, images, organization, and accessibility in addition to its text. This means that you’ll want to consider what content to include as well as how that content contributes to the report. For example, bulletpointing necessary components will provide the reader with a succinct list, but creating a diagram, chart, or image of the components in addition to the list might help the reader navigate the report better. In other words, you should think about audience, purpose, scope, and rhetorical effectiveness in every step. (Hint: Howard Gardner’s multiple intelligences may be helpful here).

Distribution Format & Organization An “A” Feasibility Report uses a formal report format, has a clear title page, abstract, table of contents, executive summary, introduction, developed report body, explicit conclusions/recommendations, and a references page. It also uses a direct organization strategy effectively suited to the particular audience, purpose, context, and scope.

Research Methodology An “A” Feasibility Report broadly researches its topic using a variety of research methods. It clearly and concisely describes the scope and results of its research, and correctly cites its sources according to APA guidelines. It may also include sample research documents (interview questionnaire or survey) as appendixes.

Content An “A” Feasibility Report presents a complete, fully developed investigation of its subject matter. It clearly explains/summarizes the report’s topic (problem), logically supports its argument with detailed examples or data, and proposes reasonable and feasible conclusions/recommendations.

Design & Layout An “A” Feasibility Report has an appealing, “clutter-free” design that uses appropriate visual aids (images, tables, graphs, etc.) to accompany and support important information. Visual aids are clearly labeled and are appropriately organized. An “A” report is also professionally printed and bound.

Writing Style & Language An “A” Feasibility Report is written for a discernable audience and uses a persuasive tone and style appropriate to the audience, purpose, scope, and context. It is concise, plainly worded, and uses an appropriate level of technicality. It uses the past active tense and has few, if any, grammatical mistakes or typos.
