COMPOSITION 1

Professor Ann Layson

Paper No. 2

This paper is a diary/ memoir. Assume the persona of any major character in any classical story taken up in class. Note that poems are not included in this selection. Write about the conflict or inner turmoil in this person. This is a first-person personal account, so you don’t have to follow the essay format. Be sure to capture the mental indecision and emotional strife of the character and how he or she justifies or even embraces the decision or choices made. If the story that you have chosen is narrated in the first person point of view, you have to change the narration from the perspective of another character, however minor he or she may be. Remember you should capture the mental state of the character; therefore, don’t not read the summary and change the character’s name to “I”. Summaries from the internet are just that; they just give the outward actions but do not delve into any kind of mental internalization.

This paper should at least be three full-length pages, double-spaced, Times New Roman 12 font. Use your own title, but never use the same title of the short story. Be creative; start capturing the reader’s attention “at the first hello.”

Submit this paper thru turnitin.com. The deadline is November 28, Monday.
