Introduction
Conducting data audit and assessing how a company's data and is fitness for a particular purpose. Data auditing is the process of verifying data to evaluate its quality and involves looking at key metrics creating conclusions about properties of the data set. All data audit is dependent on the registry, storage space for data.
What to do
Files sent from a company's server Bureau and duplicated. Their main work is to find issues that may have invalid addresses, for example. The service bureau should record sample counts with invalid state /ZIP files, NCOA drops, and foreign files and give a record of every count and the steps to follow includes: input counts which have to match data pulled from the main frame, to identify and edit false files and record the files as "dropped files."Updating duplicate rollups and drops, NCOA changes the drops, the suspension is made, and the drops are then merged.
Secondly, one has to pull records internet systems, and a search has to be done by the Bureau to make sure everything is alright to all the customers. And all the client's record should be there.
The third step is to look at search every customer using the ink-jet sample to make sure each record falls in the proper frequency cell, Frequency, and Monetary value. And one has to be sure that the ‘not-to-be' sent emails remains in the inbox, which is not such an easy task. The service bureau should not play a role in the transitional data on the duplicate files. RFM counts should be matched with all the previous records and should all be in the ballpark, and one is required to take note of the high unknown rate because it makes it difficult to estimate new file counts.
What-not-to-do
Not to read logic and algorithms, the programming code of the service bureau. Matching the final output from the service bureau and no running of own processes to mirror the service bureau to validate the production and steps require a mainframe for better auditing. The rest of the methods are left for the computer staff.
It is important to get the company(s) or individual records to the correct people for a successful audit. One should also make sure the files are merged to help ‘buyers' from intruding with the audit data.
Data audit framework is a framework developed by the DAFD projects to identify the data assets held at Educational Institution to explore their management. The framework is structured around audit to obtain an institutional perspective. The DARD audit is not a concern with administrative assets, for example, the student's database or their research output.
Importance of Data audit framework
Providing an organization with means on how to describe, identify, locate, and assess and how to manage the data. Managing data holdings is to reach its maximum potential and to provide adequate data information to better the overall outcome.
Since auditing data helps prioritize resources leading to efficiency savings and the ability to manage the risks associated with the damage or loss of data, cyber security should be set up to help reduce the cyber threat security. The use of data audit should be encouraged as the service bureau is effective in cleaning the data.
