The Habitat for Humanity nonprofit has been around for a number of years. When a business is in operation for a sustained amount of time, their longevity is typically the products of being able to sustain competitive advantage in their given fields. Habitat for humanity is a nonprofit organization that has been able sustain competitive advantage in their field. In order for Habitat for Humanity to continue to succeed, they need to consider a few concepts. Gaining a better understanding of how to build a high impact nonprofit, how to sustain innovation, and how to manage international nonprofit governance and management will allow Habitat for Humanity to continue to be successful in the future.

Building a high impact nonprofit is a difficult task. Operating a nonprofit that has a high impact on the environment around them, and is able to sustain that impact is a difficult task. A high impact nonprofit organization is one that achieves substantial results on a national level, and that has an impact on an entire system (Worth, p.419). Worth points to the idea that a high impact nonprofit is one that has a large impact on the people around them and a sustained impact. This is a principle that Jesus taught His disciples by telling them to love their neighbor. Mark 12:31 ESV says “The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” Jesus is saying here that loving and making a lasting impact on your neighbor and those around you is one of the most important concepts for every Christian to understand. Habitat for Humanity should capitalize on the idea of creating a high impact nonprofit in order to continue their current success.

Sustained innovation is a concept that many corporations attempt to do well, but often fall short. Sustaining innovation is intended to be a process. The process of the corporation working to gather to create new ideas and put them into practice in the workplace (Worth, p. 420). Sustaining innovation is a process necessary for all nonprofit organizations. Creating new ideas is a key to sustaining competitive advantage in the workplace. This idea of continuous improvement is seen throughout the Scripture. Christ calls all Christians to be more like Him every day, and working hard to attempt to be better is a principle that is present throughout the Bible. Habitat for Humanity is a large company, but will benefit by attempting to continue to innovate and work through the process pf achieving continued improvement.

Managing international governance and management is difficult for every nonprofit organization. Working internationally comes with many challenges. Worth states in his book Nonprofit Management states that, “international managers face an external environment more complex, more dynamic, more uncertain, and more complex than ever before” (p. 435). The international market comes with many tough challenges, and in many cases, is more difficult than working in one’s own country. Habitat for Humanity does this well, but needs to be sure to evaluate their international management process to be sure it is up to the international standards. The Bible speaks about going into the world and reaching them with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Understanding how to correctly operate in these foreign markets is a key to being able to achieve this goal. Habitat for Humanity will benefit from gaining a better understanding of how to build a high impact nonprofit, how to sustain innovation, and how to manage international nonprofit governance and management, and will able to sustain their success for many years.

Respond to the following:

The Lupus Foundation of America is known for fighting this cruel and disguising disease that has become an epidemic. Within these organization, they are known for having the bold and proud color of purple which stands for the everyday battle that they face with such endurance and strength. This nonprofit organization is known for having great influences an impact because of its national awareness. But within the chapter of 11, 16 and 17 I’ve found many different concepts that would benefit this group. From chapter 11 political campaign activity, 16 creative destructions, 17 INGO’s.

The concept from chapter 11 that the American Lupus Foundation of American would be political campaign activity. Political Campaign activity is an activity that in support of or opposition to specific candidates for office including the publication or distribution of statement or printed materials. Through the concept, the organization would be able to have a platform that would not only give awareness to lupus as a sponsor but provide advertisement and other opportunities.  Through political campaign advertisement, it would also provide awareness and sponsorship for a candidate who can be suffering from the same disease. This concept would give them a chance to allow them to have multi-platform from having information printed on campaign ballots and giveaways such as wristbands and shirt.

Along with the political campaign activity another concept that Lupus foundation of America could benefit from in chapter 16 was creative destruction. Creative destruction is clearing out old and outdated ways and making ways for new growth. The American lupus foundation can benefit from this concept because of the new advances in technology. The can go from just having information on the website to having an instant massager or chat assistance. Another form of creative destruction that would allow the benefit would be the updates with research. With the new advances in technology, they would be able to have live updates of benefits and survivors of lupus. They would have live video testimonials of how the organization has helped them better their lives.

The concept from chapter 17 that the lupus foundation of American would benefit from is Ingo’s.  Ingo’s are an international nongenerational organization who activity is not restricted to one single country. Through this concept, the lupus foundation of America would be able to get assistant and be world renowned attention this mimicking disease known as lupus. Also within this, they would be able to obtain partnership with other world countries who support different type of medical non-organization. They would also be able to have partners including such as the Red Cross. Red Cross is the world know for collaborating with other organizations that deal with life diseases or other issues.

These following concepts remind me of one scripture that stated in 2 chronicles 5:17, if you be a new creature in Christ old things, are passed away and behold all things are new. This scripture embodies all the following concepts because it talks about how newness is given when you in Christ just how the concepts are all a part of the newness that can happen when you get rid of the old concepts
